Remembrance Day Assembly
We are planning our school wide Remembrance Day Assembly for this Thursday, November 9th. Each child will be wearing a poppy during the assembly, we encourage each child to bring a donation for wearing a poppy. The money raised will support the Poppy Fund.
Parent(s) and Guardian(s) are welcome to join us in the gymnasium at 10:45 am
Socktober
It's wonderful to share that the Lancaster School Community came together and showed such generosity by donating 1649 pairs of socks in just over a week, exceeding the original goal. It's always heartwarming to see a community rally for a good cause. Congratulations to Mr. Vreeken's class for being the top contributors with 281 pairs donated. We hope Mr. V's class enjoys their extended recess time as a well-deserved reward!
It's truly wonderful to see such a strong sense of community and collaboration between Lancaster School and the FCCC Daycare. It's remarkable that the staff and families from FCCC consistently contribute to fundraising events, despite being a smaller group. Their support and generosity, along with the contributions from all involved, undoubtedly played a significant role in the success of Sockober. It's a testament to the power of collective effort and goodwill. Kudos to everyone involved for making a positive impact in your community!

Headlice Checks
Please take a moment to read the information from the Canadian Paediatric Society on head lice: What does head lice look like? How do they spread? How to check for it? How to you treat head lice.
We remind families to check often for head lice as part of their routines.
How Do I get Information From The School?
LDSB schools and school board use School Messenger to send key messages, alerts and general communication to families. Lancaster uses this platform and will continue to use our Together In Education to provide updates to families. These newsletters are where we will share school-specific information and highlights of student work and events in the building. This newsletter is sent out via School Messenger and posted on our school Twitter account and website.
SchoolMessenger App: Download the SchoolMessenger App to stay connected. Use your mobile device to download and install the free SchoolMessenger blue app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store, the SchoolMessenger website portal, or from within the LDSB mobile app. *New families will be able to create their account after the first day of attendance.
The first time you use the app, you must select Sign Up to create your account. Please ensure you use the same email address your student’s school has on file. If you do not use that same email address, you will not be able to create an account.
School Day Online Payments
We are paperless and cashless at Lancaster. We use the platform School Day for online payments (field trips, milkshake days, etc) and for digital permission slip signatures. ALL families are required to sign up using their child's individual match key that will be provided within the first weeks of school.
